The aim of these workshops is to transport you to a place where you investigate new themes and take a highly experimental approach to your writing for a day - injecting it with creativity and developing lots of new material. These workshops are suitable for writers of all abilities.
These sessions are a new and exciting sister project to Brighton's famous Life Drawing Sessions run by Jake Spicer. These workshops are the brain-children of James Burt and I, and will be co-facilitated by us both.
Not for the Faint Hearted - for experienced writers.

How it works:
You have no choice - you have to write poems or short stories for a set amount of time, and you HAVE TO perform them.
We'll be writing for 20 mins, then 10 mins, then 5 mins, and performing each piece of work at each stage. Yes we're scared too. Who knows what will happen? Its an exercise in writing with adrenaline and driving out those pesky whiny inner critics for an evening. Join us :)
Introduction to Poetry - for beginners.
We'll practice and experiment with a range of creative exercises that are designed to create interesting effects with language. As the course progresses, we'll look at how you craft and refine your work with feedback and support.

I'm on a six month New Writing South playwriting course at Theatre Royal Brighton to give life to a new idea for two characters.
